Breaking Attachments to Your 'Stuff"

Clutter - we all have it. It's a struggle to break the attachment to our things. Emotional attachment is the probably the toughest to break. We all have mementos that we hold dear and they are worth holding on to. But if your home is chuck-full of them, you are going to have to set some rules for yourself and decide which you will keep.

Place the items into groups and choose one per group that you will keep. Or just keep those that are most dear to you. Or take a photo of them and place it in an album. The memory is there for you to hold on to and not necessarily the item.

When you find it difficult to make decisions, begin in a small way. Discard just one item. When you pick one of lesser priority you will find that it is not the end of the world if you give it up.
