Do you find it hard to get started in decluttering your living space? If so, then the bathroom is the place to begin. It is the easiest to get tidy because it is such a small room. Also, most bathrooms have in them mostly the things that are related to that room – things such as grooming items, soap, shampoo, razors, and hair dryers.
What is great about the bathroom is that it is the easiest to keep clean and decluttered.
Begin with the bathtub. The only things that should be there are those that you actually need for the bath or shower. And you don’t need much for that. You only need one kind of shampoo. If you have several kinds, rotate them. Keep one in the shower and the rest in the cabinet.
Then there is the area of the sink. Keep only those things that are needed for washing. The rest can be put in the cabinet. This makes it so easy to quickly clean the sink – just a couple of quick swipes and a dry cloth to polish things. Use small baskets or containers to hold items, such as makeup and daily grooming items. When you have finished with this each morning, you can put it back in the cabinet. Bingo! You’ve got things tidied up!
You may want to put makeup items in a zippered bag. When you do this, it is easy to pack it up for travel. It is all there. Of course, the liquids will go into a special plastic bag or two.
And keep the floor clear of things that are not used in the bathroom. If it isn’t part of the bathroom needs, move it out to where it belongs. It only takes a moment. One thing about the bathroom is that you never know who might need to use it or when. So if there are things that you don’t want anyone to see – put them out of sight!
One thing that is good to have in the bathroom is a first aid kit. The bathroom is the most sensible room for that.
Every bathroom tells a story about its owner. Keep it neat and clean and it sends a wonderful message about you. And it only takes such a few minutes to get it sparkling and to maintain it. A neat and tidy bathroom will help to make you face your day with confidence. It will make you feel good about yourself.
