Decluttering - Making it a Habit

Decluttering once is a big task. Learning to conquer the habit is also a huge task. This means developing the habit of keeping clutter from coming back. It tends to come back again and again.

So, like other things in life, it means learning to do things in a different manner. It means creating a new habit. Learn to do things quickly – that becomes easy. You’ll find that it works!

Did you get the clutter under control and then it just came back? Where did it happen? I’ll bet that it came in on a horizontal surface. Usually it is that area that is close to the entry door, it is where you put things as you come into the house.

Work for about three or four minutes and clear that corner space. First of all, clear it of all that “stuff” and then beautify it with some simple décor. Arrange a flower vase in that space or something similar. You’ll find it easier to keep that space looking nice. Do it for a couple of weeks. They say that if it takes about three weeks or a month to develop a new routine. By that time it will be a habit and you will have licked the clutter problem in that corner.

After you have taken care of the problem in that corner, you will find it a good start so that going on to another area in your home is not difficult at all.

Make decluttering a habit. It can save you time and it can save you. It can save your sanity! Learn to declutter fast.
